Starting To Spark is a book review blog owned by me, Emma. I previously had the website 'Emma's Bookery', but after several years of being inactive on there I decided things had become too stale for me to revitalise it. So here we are in a new space, fresh pages, and hopefully in a better frame of mind and without the adolescent pressures of wanting to be the "best blogger".
I live in Kent with my husband Sam and my cat Fergus (yes he is as regal as he sounds). I'm a publishing hopeful who has spent the majority of my time in retail roles, but my favourite was being a bookseller for three years. There I met many famous faces, wonderful authors, and met some of my closest friends.
In my spare time I (obviously) love to read, crochet, attend the theatre/cinema, travel to near and far destinations, and binge-watch tv series where I develop serious crushes. I'm not particularly interesting, but I love talking about books, learning new things and meeting new people. Feel free to say hi, and thank you for making it to this page.
